Programs
Rooted classes blend creative movement, art, and social-emotional learning in a faith-based environment. Each 60-minute session is thoughtfully designed by a team of therapists, psychologists, dance instructors, and children’s ministers to engage the whole child—body, mind, and spirit.
We meet Saturdays at the Downtown Tuscaloosa YMCA.

Workshops
Rooted hosts monthly workshops on topics like parenting, marriage, mental health, and faith—led by our Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. These sessions aim to build community and make mental health support more accessible for families.
We also offer caregiver workshops for families enrolled in our signature classes, providing practical tools to reinforce at home the techniques and skills their children learn in class.

Community
Rooted is community-driven—committed to identifying real needs and bridging the gaps where support is needed most. Our fundraising efforts not only sustain our programs but also strengthen the wider Tuscaloosa community through initiatives like our Snack Pantry for Tuscaloosa City Schools and our Sensory Activation Vehicle (SAV) in partnership with the Tuscaloosa Police Department. Each project reflects our mission to meet people where they are and create meaningful, lasting change.
